Hello everyone,

This weekend the server will be shutdown for an estimated 2-3 hours interval for some scheduled maintenance. So if you see the site is offline do not think there is something bad or we're under attack or things like that.

I just need this time to make some security upgrades of the Windows Server operating system and also to set the server to take care if itself in some situations because I will leave Bucharest for about 3 weeks and I will not have physical access to it.

For example if here will be some power blackout the server must be able to power itself on and come back online when the power is restored. This is just one of the things which needs to be set as after a power failure I will not be able to power it on remotely by sending a Wake-On-LAN signal (as it's usually done). WOL doesn't work after a power failure.

I apologize for any incovenience.

At Baerndorfer’s request we integrated MathJax support into our site.

If mathematical formulas are needed in a post now this feature is available.

About how to use it please check the site here where you'll find examples and documentation.

For example if you write this in a post...

... the content of the post will show this:

If you right-clik on the formulas you'll see a menu with MathJax options and a description of the feature in the Help section.

Just keep in mind the site is still in testing-mode, the mobile version is not ready yet (there is still work to do on that side) and the standard version still have some minor issues which needs to be fixed.

Hi guys,

Sorry for being silent lately, had a lot of work to do at job.

But as you probably noticed, the RevolverMaps Visitors Globe we had on the right side of our site was replaced.

The reason is RevolverMaps shutdown their service as you can see here.

The RevolverMaps services were used on hundreds of site for more than 15 years.

So I needed to look for an alternative, I found one which I agree doesn't look as good as what we had from RevolverMaps but I'll try to customize it as much as is technically possible to match better the design of our site.

I'll continue to customize it.

Image Magnifier feature implemented

A new feature is implemented and deployed.

Remember on the old site I always added "(link to larger image here)" to my images ? It was necessary so you guys could open images at their full sizes so you can see the details:

Now we have a new feature I named Image Magnifier which will open images at their full size so you can see details not visible in the images inserted in a post.

Clicking on a image will open the Image Magnifier showing the image in its full size. Then clicking on the full-sized image in Image Magnifier or on the X button on its top-right corner will close the Image Magnifier.

It's a very useful feature especially when we need to see more details in the photos of our devices, in electronic schemas or in documents.

A few examples below:

Please consider Image Magnifier as being in Beta version for now, it's still under testing.

If you find any issue/bug just send me a message with the location of it and it will be fixed.

It's funny how he is unable to see the logic-breaks in his own logic a 3 years old kid would see... 🙃 But I consider this an effect of his mental issues...

So he kept ZPM on his site for many years, he asked others to replicate it, he replicated it himself but kept his replication secret for one year until I forced him to make his replication public then he started attacking ZPM saying it's "a toy" even if anything he ever presented as his "discovery" on his site didn't even got close to the tens of watts output and a few miliamps input I demonstrated with ZPM. So that's the guy telling everyone he is "sharing knowledge" with others. Sure... 😉

The funny thing is he deleted the most powerful device he ever had on his site, now he really have nothing.

'Cause what he is presenting for years are just a few coils stolen from one of Don Smith's devices which he claimed as his discovery and named them "partnered output coils":

So excellent, I just told Cd_Sharp few a weeks ago that I intend to find a way to trigger the deletion of the ZPM threads there. That site lost the right to keep information about ZPM long time ago, I don't want ZPM to be associated in any way with the paranoia there, with a religious-like cult and a wannabe cult leader.

What a shame, that used to be a free-energy research site with real and skilled researchers...

Well, we should've seen this coming, all the components of an religious cult are there now and fit in place.

The paranoia, the "Bible of the partnered output coils" (actually some coils taken from one of the Don Smith's devices), the "dark forces" trying to stop him and his site (actually the site is going down on itself for more than a year because of bad performance and bad code changes not because it's attacked), the "infidels" (meaning all the researchers questioning those useless partnered output coils, researchers which left him and are active here)... all the pieces of an religious cult are there.

I'll start importing the ZPM threads here as this is its rightful home, the place where it must be.

It will take some time as there are tons of information, experiments and test results but I'll work on it as I find time. I'll make sure all the information will be here in our new home.

YouTube videos with timestamp feature implemented

A new feature is implemented and deployed.

For YouTube videos we will not need to specify the time where to watch anymore, I just implemented a feature to properly handle YouTube links containing timestamps like:

"https://youtu.be/r99g4mjEvTE?‍t=1068"

Now the YouTube videos will start to play at the specified time (when it is specified like in the examples above). 😉

In order to get a link from a YouTube video at a specific moment just right-click on the video at that moment and use "Copy video URL at current time", this will copy in your clipboard a link with timestamp like in the examples above.

But probably all of you already know how to do that because I saw many YoutTube links with timestamps in our site just they didn't worked properly before because we didn't had a proper handler of this kind of links implemented yet.

Now we do.

An example here, the video starts at 2:21 (just by writing "https://youtu.be/u2uuZ3eCDxM?‍t=141" as text in the post where 141 is the value in seconds where we want our video to start):

Security fix deployed

We just deployed a security fix for a problem found by Gandalf.

Description of the problem:

After login the site is using a browser cookie to know that the member is authenticated. If the member is authenticated on more devices (let's say laptop and phone) and the member is changing its password on one of the devices the other device should logout the member so he can login again using the new password.

That was not happening and the member could continue his session on the other device until the browser cookie on that device expired.

What the bug-fix is doing:

When the member is changing his password on any device the other devices will detect the password change and the member will be logged-out on those devices so the member can login again using the new password.

We're looking for feedback from you, let us know if the fix is working as expected on your devices. If there are any issues we gonna investigate and resolve them.

VideoUploader component development done

The development of our video uploader component is complete.

I deleted that thread used for development and testing of this component.

The reason we developed it is very simple: TinyMCE (the rich text editor we use for posting) have a video uploader plugin but that is Premium feature so in order to have it we should pay a TinyMCE licence and the price of the licences starts from about 80$ paid every month. It's not worth it to pay those money as long as we could develop our own component.

It was necessary to analyze the technologies and the mechanisms TinyMCE is using under the hood in order to attach our customized component to it, it took some time but the result deserved the effort.

Now some details.

For now it's accepting only MP4 files, we could extend it if necessary to accept other video formats.

The video is not resizable. That's on purpose, when inserting a video in a post we're programatically setting it to 100% width and 100% height so it's adapting its size to how big the screen size of visitor's device is, no matter if it's a computer or a mobile phone.

I'm thinking we should extend that behavior on the inserting image functionality (disabling images resizing functionality and programatically setting images to 100% width and 100% height) so all images will auto-resize themselves based on visitor's screen size. I'll need to discuss with Cd_Sharp this to find his opinion about this change.

The maximum size of the uploaded videos is 500MB, we can change the limit if necessary but we should keep in mind the server's space is about 100GB SSD space so we shouldn't upload any video we find on internet. I can make more space and get an additional 10-20GB but still the space will continue to be limited.

The purpose of the video uploading feature is to upload videos we don't want to upload on YouTube. Basically videos of our own devices and experiments which (for safety resons) we don't want to share with public servers.

So please don't upload movies, documentaries etc. which can be uploaded on YouTube, upload them on YouTube and just post them here as external videos.

For now consider the video uploader feature as being still in testing mode, if you find any bug or think something should be changed in its behavior please let us know and we'll fix/change it.
