Question

I'm realco. I have been a member for a while. Am I allowed to start a new thread? Thanks!

ZPM Related Questions

In order to keep the ZPM replications threads clean I've created this thread when questions can be asked and discussion related to ZPM's functionality can continue.

We can discuss here about the standing waves on ZPM's output, the waves propagation in the core and any subjects not directly related to those ZPM replications.

Regards,

Why do I get DC resistance between two disconnected coils?

My question is with a set of coils I made a long time ago on a ferrite core. 135 turns of 20awg wire i think, I believe both wires are exactly the same length because of how OCD I am.
This is the only setup I get the effect with, as I have 3 other cores of same type wound the same way, but different lengths, turns, and guage of wire, though don't get the same result.
With 2 separate coils, I connect a multimeter on one end of each coil, the other ends are open. I have a variety of meters, and all give same reading, when testing resistance using DC. Below are some pictures of the setup testing with DC for resistance, and showing the capacitance at 10khz

You can see as I move the open ends of the wires farther apart the resistance drops. Same with the capacitance between the coils.

It probably has something to do with parasitic capacitance, or the capacitance between the coils, tho has anyone else seen this with any of their setups? I will be moving back to working with these coils till I can wind new ones on my AMCC core. Thanks for any help.

What is this TC-80-7M core, made of?

Hello everyone,

I recently disasembled a Kashtan Tape Recorder and inside I found a very nice transformer. I looked at the core and I am not sure what exactly is it made of. It seems like a metalic "tape" with the width of this "tape" being about 0.36mm (see atached pdf). The device was made in URSS. Could it be, by any chance, an exotic material like metglass?, permalloy, etc? or is it simply silicon steel?

Why are OU devices not available for sale

Greetings everyone!

Does anyone have a clear answer to this question? For most of us that are not avid experimenters, this technology will remain an utopia. This needs to be brought to light. Statistics is devastating. This forum is the best 1% and still most of those 1% failed to reinvent the weel. Many are interested in buying a working device. Any thoughts?

👀
