Hello everyone

I am new here. This thread is pretty long. My question is what other part (cheaper) can replace successfully Metglas AMCC-200 core ?

Pulsed Energy

"MK Magnetics is a reliable manufacturer and supplier of magnetic cores in various industries. Our products are used in a wide range of industries for multiple applications. One of them revolves around providing pulsed energy. So if you’re searching for the ideal magnetic core manufacturer, we have the in-house capabilities and a team of professionals to help you.

With pulsed energy becoming a popular option for many industries and research institutions, we cater to their needs by designing and developing tape wound cores made with quality using expert craftsmanship. Therefore, we can meet and even exceed your expectations while delivering your desired outcome.

What is Pulsed Energy?
Pulsed energy refers to pulsed power, where energy is converted from direct or alternating current into storage capacitors, and then released in short pulse trains. The process creates instantaneous power at extremely high voltages and currents used in directed energy applications.

From water treatment, weapons, food processing, fusion research, and even medical applications, pulsed energy is required for their operations to run smoothly. And one of the components that can help with that is a high-quality magnetic core. Fortunately, our products are built with superior-quality materials, making them highly reliable and durable in any environment."

Hi Inception

I like your definition of pulsed energy,

instantaneous power at extremely high voltages and currents

excellent.

OK. So it is olny one kind of core we can use to make it working well, isn't it ? Do you know european online shop or maybe to buy from China ?

Flo3,

I am grateful that you questioned sourcing for cores and their substitutes. In my spare time I was able to find a few sources already that I may also consider.

Perhaps the (international) sourcing of cores and other materials belong in their own category. So others can comment on the reputation/reliability of the vendors and their products. Also we don't want to clutter an experiment with non-essential (but possibly helpful) responses like these.

How about we create a category called "Materials"? In that category we can list the item(s) and for each item listed we can comment as to their international source(s).

Regarding a Chinese source for the core:

Hi Inception,

Yes, seems we need this category.

Give me some time to set it up and I'll move the latest related posts there in a new thread named "Metglas Cores".

Thanks for guiding. I asked for alternative cores because ZPM by Fighter seems to be one of most simpliest idea to replicate. 50 Watts of energy from a 15-20 USD core is not bad. A question is if it can work multiplied by 2,3...10 ? Many things is possible but joining parallelly many units may require new calculations of elements.
