Hello,

When needing quick information on any element of the periodic table there is a non-profit educational site developed by one of my former colleagues:

https://mendeleev.me/

It's just a site I frequently use especially for checking some metals for the number of electrons and density:

In the PDF file which can be downloaded for every element there are more details like electrical and magnetic properties:

There is also a mobile app available on iOS.

Could be useful in our research too.

Regards,

Fighter

I think it will be useful for everyone. I clicked on the Nb of your friend's site I was however surprised that in the description on your friend's site on the Nb i read that:

As you can see in this following table, Russia does not produce Nb and is not registered as a producer.

One thing is certain, I live 6 km from the mine, we are the second biggest Nb producer in the world and Brazil is the first. Niobium is in high demand, it is very expensive and is mainly used in stainless steel alloys for nuclear reactors, sprinklers, missiles, cutting tools, pipes, super magnets and welding rods.

This is the correct description for the Nb

Currently, niobium prices range from US$ 45,000 per tonne and due to its widespread use in defence and aerospace, niobium is considered a ‘strategic metal’ by a number of governments, including United States of America, United Kingdom and Russia. A “strategic metal’ is one for which there are few or no substitutes, and for which there exists an essential use. In the case of the United States of America, the critical nature of niobium is high, because there are only a few sources throughout the world and it is wholly dependant upon imports.

Hi Jagau,

I didn't talked with my former colleague for many years but I saw him posting some time ago about his project in my LinkedIn network.

Of course any feedback or bug report can be sent through multiple communication channels in the About section of the site:

But from my research seems Russia is actually a producer of Niobium, I don't know if it's a significant quantity or not.

Main mining areas: Australia, Zaire, Brazil, Russia, Norway, Canada, Madagascar.

The source of this information is here, somewhere in the middle of the page:
