RevolverMaps visitors globe shutdown

Hi guys,

Sorry for being silent lately, had a lot of work to do at job.

But as you probably noticed, the RevolverMaps Visitors Globe we had on the right side of our site was replaced.

The reason is RevolverMaps shutdown their service as you can see here.

The RevolverMaps services were used on hundreds of site for more than 15 years.

So I needed to look for an alternative, I found one which I agree doesn't look as good as what we had from RevolverMaps but I'll try to customize it as much as is technically possible to match better the design of our site.

I'll continue to customize it.

Hi guys,

Seems our visitors globe widget is down, the site clustrmaps.com is unreachable.

I'm not sure if this temporary or they shutdown permanently.

At this point I didn't found any alternative, the geovisite.com widget suggested above by Shadow_ seems it's also not working.

I'll give clustrmaps some time, maybe they will come back online.

If not I'll start searching deeper for another solution.

I'd really like to keep having that globe widget, it gives a nice touch to our site.

Damn, you're fast ! 🙂

It's identical with the one from clustrmaps, even the customization (blinking red dots) I've made works with this one !

I'll check this one's internal functionality to see if there are any different things.

Too bad we lost the history of the visitors on our site but there is nothing we can do about it, it did go with clustrmaps.

About "Roll Your Own Globe", yeah, if the external providers keep disappearing maybe it would be a good idea to implement our own globe widget. I'll keep option this in mind to do some reasearch on Globe.GL.

Hi,

The provider which is not working anymore is clustrmaps.com, we had our visitors globe widget from them.

Now we changed to mapmyvisitors.com found by Inception and this one is working and looks identical with the previous one.
