Do you guys consider Solar energy as free?

It seems that people who have off grid solar power, can use as much electricity as they want during the day, easily running 10kW loads.

Every second house has solar panels in many areas.

I want to say it is free energy, because the energy is coming from the environment, just like a heat pump which gives 4kW of heat for 1kW of input.

But the night time is a problem, so how can we implement the thinking of the heat pump or free cooling to utilize solar panels at night? There must be a opposite of sun light which can be utilized.

A different type of electricity which cannot be measured by the meters. Just think like a Joe Cell which needs only its negative pole connected to work..

As I mentioned in another post, it's clean and free energy. Once the initial investment is made, you have a self-sufficient system. The battery bank is what needs to be monitored with highly customized and efficient controllers these days. I've been using it since the early 2000s and I can tell you it's very efficient.

What do you mean by powered only by the negative terminal?

On my batteries, they're all connected.

Hello everyone.

I agree with Jagau, yes! It's free energy.

On the other hand, an antenna array could be implemented at the infrared frequency, allowing the panels to operate 24 hours a day. The problem is… if we consider its frequency, the antennas would be a patch array at the nanometer level, something we can't implement at the moment… but it will be possible in time!

Hi Yoelmicro

scientists and researchers are developing solar panels that can harvest energy around the clock, even when the sun is not shining. The new kind of solar panel has been termed “Anti Solar Panel”.

Several links can be found online about this new technology,

which is based on thermo-radiative energ at night.
